Today we remember VE Day – Victory in Europe.
On this day in 1945, the guns fell silent across Europe, marking the end of a long and devastating war. As peace dawned, streets filled with celebration, but behind every cheer was a story of sacrifice and undeniable bravery.
We honour all who served – the soldiers, the nurses, the families who waited – and the farmers who, against all odds, kept food on our tables. In the face of fear and uncertainty, they showed quiet courage.
Their resilience gave us freedom.
We will remember them. Always.
